Freelance Editor CA Marshall's Year-End FREE EDIT CONTEST!
It's that time again! Time for another FREE EDIT contest!
Just like previous contests, I'm giving away a FREE substantial edit! (That's plot, pacing, character development, etc, up to 100k words) to one lucky reader!
It's really easy to enter, just fill out the form linking to something specific you want for christmas, or something you'd give to your favorite writer or reader. ENTER ONCE PER DAY.
To get more than one entry per day, link to this contest. Fill out the form again every time you link or tweet, or whatever. Please include direct links, and if you post somewhere, the post must be about this contest only. Please don't spam your friends. One entry per type of post (one twitter status, one blog post, etc) per day. To fill out the form again, refresh the page.
For 10 bonus entries, post my button anywhere on your blog! If you include the button in your blog post, that post is worth 11 entries! If you use the button, make sure you note that the button is included when you fill out the form. The button and code can be found in my sidebar.
Contest is open worldwide (but has to be in English) as everything is done by email. I can wait up to a month for you to finish your MS if it isn't finished by contest end (midnight December 10th), SO GET WRITING!
THIS CONTEST IS NOW CLOSED!
Thanks to all that entered! Look for results tomorrow!

One day I will win ;) That is the present I want!
Two things
How do I know if my entry went through and do I have to about tweet the contest everyday?
I with Steena . . . one day!
Winning a full crit is always sweet. :D
MsFairyFreak - If the form changes to a "your entry has been submitted" thing, then it went through. You don't *have* to tweet everyday, but if you do, you'll get more entries!
Hi CA. I've entered but wasn't sure about linking to gift. Anyway, I have added your button to my blog.
Thank you for a great opportunity to some lucky writer!
WooHoooooooo.
I love contests.
Awesomeness! You rock ;o)
I second Erica. You are just full of a lot of awesomeness! :D
Okay.. I'm completely button illiterate. I tried and tried to get a button and I can't do it. I did blog about it with a link to your contest.
Anyway, I said I was about to put a button on my blog on the the form you had us complete, and I just wanted you to know that I couldn't get it to work. :(
Wow. What a fantastic prize! :-)
Awesome contest, Cassandra! I put your button on my blog. :-)
I have two questions. What if you write picture/chapter books, will you critique more than one ms? My other question is more personal. Are you from Newcastle? My half sister went to school there, then went on to Oxford and is now in the States.
Ebyss, yeah, sometimes blog platforms have certain rules when posting in html. It took me like ten tries just to get the HTML right for posting it!
Sharon, If you've got picture books, I'll do three of them. Chapter books, I'll do two, under 35k each. And no, I'm sadly not from Newcastle. I"m from Michigan but spent a year living in England to earn my MA. Best year of my life, seriously. Oxford is *so* beautiful. I spent a bit of time reading Philip Pullman in CS Lewis' seat at the bird and baby *gasp!* :P
The rest of you, THANK YOU! YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME! I wouldn't be an editor if you guys weren't writers! Keep up the good work! :)
what a great idea AND GENEROUS !!! thank you so much .....
Can I just say how awesome I think it is that you do this? I know deep down it must be some kind of self-promotion, but still, what you are giving away has enormous value to us writers.
Thank you, and Merry Christmas!
I do have a selfish reason for doing these free edits C Scott Morris: I get to write them off as promotional expenses on my taxes. :)
This is really great for you to do. Still can't get the button to work though. :(
I did link it to twitter again today and forgot to put on form.
My name is ebyss and @CA_Marshall.
Merry Christmas and thanks for hosting.
Superficially selfish or not, I still insist the prizes you offer have a great deal of value to those of us in the 'aspiring writer' world. I hope to someday win one.
I've seen you give away more critiques and edits than anyone else.
Thank you again.
I had a slight issue getting the button into a blog post too. It was because the opening quote mark was the wrong kind. Not sure how that happened, but deleting it and typing " again fixed the problem. :)
Question though... Am I suppose to submit the form 11 times or do you note the button use yourself, Cassie?
I was the lucky winner last time, so I'm not going to enter again (that would just be too greedy!).
Cassandra's awesome to work with though guys - good luck!
