I had a giant cloth calendar we pinned to the wall and pinned a cloth figure to. We moved it to a new space each day.
I also got a chocolate calendar, which was much more exciting to me. lol.

Growing up I had an advent calendar tree, so each day my brother or I would get to pick out a new ornament to hang. It was pretty awesome.

My daughter loves her advent calendars. This year it's chocolate, but she still plays with her little toys from last year's calendar.

I don't have an advent calendar. The only ones I've ever had were the chocolate ones, and even those I only had if I bought them myself. Alas, I was a poor, deprived child--bereft of advent calendar chocolates.

We used to have these really elaborate advent calendars when I was growing up... I really need to get a nice one myself. I got some cheap drugstore off-brand one last year that had the world's worst chocolate behind every door. Bleh. The memory of that waxy faux-chocolate still makes me shiver.
